From OpinionJournal.com (wsj):
If a series of man-on-the-street interviews published in the Village
Voice were representative, the American hoi polloi would be as dumb as
the foreign elite. The Voice asked eight people their views on whether
John Walker is a traitor . Only two said yes. The others gave really
dumb reasons why he isn't.
Forty-two-year-old John O'Sullivan of Manhattan -- not the John
O'Sullivan who used to edit National Review -- says: "I really
don't like regular Americans calling for him to be hanged. I might
not break bread with him, but I give him credit for living by his own
standards." O'Sullivan adds that he was "raised a
Catholic," but "lately, Scientology has piqued my interest
because of their ideas on health. They promote saunas and niacin for
total cleansing of the body."
