Suspect arrested at drug treatment center

McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- A man wanted for allegedly trafficking drugs was arrested while trying to sign himself up for a drug treatment program.

Johnny Michael Brown was arrested while signing himself into Narconon Arrowhead.

A bench warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to show up for a preliminary hearing in Pittsburg County District Court yesterday.

The hearing was to determine whether there is enough evidence to try Brown on seven felony charges and one misdemeanor count.

Sheriff Snookie Amaranto says Brown had 11-thousand-500 dollars in cash with him when he was arrested.

Brown faces several charges, including a felony count of trafficking an illegal substance, possession of a firearm and unlawful use of video surveillance equipment.

The charges come after police served a search warrant on Brown's home and junk yard in January.

Officers from five agencies seized nearly 200 firearms from Brown's property and a remote blasting detonator.
